Teatr Nowy (New Theatre)
Description
Located at ul. Dąbrowskiego 5 since 1923, the Nowy Theatre offers a diverse repertoire of contemporary drama and modern interpretations of the classics. Its performances are produced by top directors, young and old. The theatre's pride is its team of actors, who for years have ranked among Poland's best. Although the majority of the theatre's premieres are locally-inspired, their festival successes and the fact they have been recorded for television are living proof of their profound universal message.
In addition to the fixed repertoire, audiences visiting the theatre's three stages get to enjoy successive Debut Stage performances, performance readings, literary meetings in the Reader series and a wide range of educational workshops. Since 2018, the Nowy Theatre has been organising the national vocal festival "Remembering Agnieszka Osiecka".
